Fees
Fees vary depending on the type of service being offered:
Psychology Treatment sessions – $180 per 60 min session (including clinical note taking)
Treatment sessions involve working with myself to address previously recognised issues. This type of session normally includes working closely with my client on these issues and collaboratively developing realistic strategies to be utilised. Quoted fees refer to both private and Medicare treatment sessions.

Assessment sessions - $420 per 60 mins session (5-6 sessions required with report)
Assessment sessions are employed to help identify underlying and undiscovered difficulties, make diagnoses, define functioning and/or formalise findings. Reports from these sessions include detailed information and recommendations which can be used to assist the client in future treatment plans or simply just managing their diagnoses. Assessment sessions attract a higher fee which takes into account the cost of assessment equipment used, collating the results and writing the report. Quoted fees refer to both private and Medicare assessment sessions.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 24 hours (business days) notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling of in-office appointments. A minimum of 48 hours (business days) notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling of out-visit appointments (including at the home or other premises).
If, for some reason you need to cancel or postpone an appointment, please adhere to the cancellation timeframe, otherwise a 50% cancellation fee may be charged for the session.
Medicare and Healthcare Rebates
Private Health
Jellybean Family Psychology is registered with HICAPS and can process eligible private health care rebates. However, as each private health fund is different it is essential you contact your private health fund provider to determine if you are eligible prior to your appointment.
Medicare - Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative (Mental Health Care Plan)
Mental Health Care Plans can be a useful way to access Psychological services with the financial support of a rebate.
Considerations and eligibilities:
You must be referred under a Mental Health Treatment Plan by your GP, a paediatrician or psychiatrist
You must bring your referral with your Mental Health Treatment Plan to your appointment
After 6 appointments the referrer will be provided with a report from your practitioner. This report will outline the assessment and treatment provided, recommendations and if necessary, a request for further appointments
If further appointments are required, you will need to return to the referrer for a review. The review will determine eligibility for up to an additional 4 appointments (totaling 10 appointments in a calendar year)
You can then return to the practitioner for the specified number of appointments
Medicare - Helping Children with Autism/PDD (HCWA) Initiative
The Australian Government's Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) initiative can help client’s get early intervention and access other services to support a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The below considerations must be given to eligibility.
Assessment/Diagnosis considerations:
The child must be under 13 years of age and referred by a consultant psychiatrist or paediatrician
Medicare rebates are available up to 4 assessment services. The services may consist of a number of different allied health services (e.g., psychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy) and it is up to the referrer to determine how these are allocated
Treatment considerations:
The child must be under 15 years of age and the treatment management plan was put in place before their 13th birthday
They must be referred by a consultant psychiatrist or paediatrician
Medicare rebates are available for up to 20 appointments. It will be up to the referring practitioner to determine how these are allocated to the different allied health services
On the completion of treatment, the treating practitioner will provide the referrer with a report of the treatment provided and recommendations
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability. Early intervention supports can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay.
To access NDIS services and become a participant, you must meet the criteria below:
Be an Australian citizen, or hold a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category visa
Reside in Australia
Be aged less than 65 years old when initially entering NDIS
Have a permanent disability that significantly impacts your ability to participate in everyday activities
